Leucadia Beach Inn

A great gem of a family owned motel in an excellent location. My darling room (#3) had a double bed, and kitchenette with sink (which doubled as a bathroom sink). The owner was nice and lent me a beach chair and towel. I won’t lie - the motel is on a busy street and some rooms back up to the neighboring taco restaurant - it can be loud. But by 9 pm both nights, it was totally quiet and peaceful all night. Also, weak WIFI in my room - may not be suitable for remote work or a lot of streaming. I’d still 100% stay there again.

This was our 3rd stay at Leucadia Beach Inn! This is a comfortable, clean, accommodation that is very near many local eateries/coffee shops and a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed morning walks to cafes and evening walks to the beach to watch the sunset. The gentleman that oversees the place is extremely friendly. The room has a kitchenette. We highly recommend staying here and we will always rebook when we return to the area.

Excellent place. Fantastic location. Awesome service. Great value and super clean. It's obvious the proprietors take pride in both the maintenance of the buildings and the cleanliness of the rooms. It isn't a high end resort style place, but if you're looking to spend some time in the area, and soak in the local flavor, this place is perfect. It's only a half mile to the beach and super close to lots of great restaurants. Highly recommend!

This is such a great place to stay. It's close to the ocean, pet friendly, and I love the local vibes. The rooms are clean and the towels and linens smell amazing! I'd like to know their secret. :) The staff is very friendly and most helpful. Thanks Mark!

I just returned from a very enjoyable four night stay at the Inn, which is in a great location, walking distance to many places to eat/drink/shop. Mark was an accommodating host from start to finish. We had a very comfortable and CLEAN room that included a convenient kitchenette, and although we did not cook, we enjoyed preparing our breakfast in the room and eating in the pleasant courtyard, which was just a VERY short walk from our room, which was tucked away in the "new" wing of the building. The bed in our room was quite comfortable, although the pillow was too firm and tall for me, but of course that is just personal preference! We did not use the air conditioning unit nor the provided space heater; I enjoy fresh air, so opening the windows was delightful. The shower had plenty of hot water and a very decent flow. We had a great downstairs room, and although there was some noise from upstairs, it was certainly nothing extraordinary to be noted. Although you can hear the train as it goes by, it does not run (or blow its whistle?) in the wee hours, and it is not so loud that the place rumbles or conversation is interrupted or anything like that. We just heard it going by! I look forward to returning and highly recommend the Leucadia Beach Inn!

This little place is adorable. Don’t set your expectations too high and you will love it. The front desk was very helpful at check in and showed us around. We had a queen w small kitchenette. The location is a short drive from Encinitas. One very convenient amenity is a small grocery next to the inn. This made it easy to get what you needed for your stay. Many dining options close. This was a very basic room and while it had some nice touches, the mattress, linens and furniture were all average. The shower and bathroom had not been renovated in a long time. There was no place to plug in phone at nightstand and no plug in bathroom. Keep these things in mind if you stay and you will be good. I would stay again!

Very clean and spacey room, and very quiet, but lack of ventilation, so we need to keep windows partially open.
